MegaTree on a Cliff
- Tutorial created by enki Ghost Speed Build -
In this case we start with the water. As the water reaches to the foot of the cliff, we will underlay the underground of the water with gray plates
and thus continue the steep wall and create an equally stony ground.
On the one hand, the light gray plates simulate a flatter underground, on the other hand, the spray of the sea is becoming more effective this way. The dark gray plates indicate deeper underground.
That's also how you proceed with the water. The deep spots you fill with dark blue bricks (here bricks round 1x1). The flatter it gets, the brighter the blocks. Right at the edge totally colorless-transparent bricks are used, as if the water would be stirred up by the rocks.
Do not create a direct (straight) demarcation of the light and dark stones, but try with the course of the cliff to layer colors into each other to flow. Possibly, the water encounters an obstacle.
In the end, with a few bricks leveled higher than the "water horizon" you can additionally create waves and water movement as you like.
Now we continue with the cliff.
At the bottom of the cliff we use gray slopes and also simple 1x1 and 1x2 bricks.
The cavity behind the rock wall and the resulting elevation we fill with bricks which we do not need for the scene and immediately build a stable underground construction for the cliff.
The cliff itself, for example, you pull up with 1x2x3 & 1x2x4 slopes. Also vary with other slopes and bricks.
In order for the rock wall to look more solid, you should build up a second layer behind your steep wall (ideal white with gray or dark bricks), otherwise you can see through the gaps and joints and the wall does not look very solid but hollow.
To create the effect of wet rocks in the lower part of the wall, we use darker gray bricks at the foot of the cliff. Only a little higher, where the bricks (the rocks) are no longer wet, possibly dried by the sun, we pick brighter stones.
Also beautiful are a few plant elements, which we bring into the cliff. Try Bamboo Leaves, Plant Flower Stem, Plant Flower Stem 1x1x2 with Leaves, Leaves 4x3, Leaves 6x5, Plant Leaves 6x5 or simple green / brown accents with 1x1 or 1x2 plates.
The surface is laid out with green plates to simulate meadow and grass. Since no meadow is usually even, we set up a few elevations here and there. Larger plates and bricks in the center varied with smaller plates at the edges. Also different colored areas in the grass, resulting from heavy wear or lighter areas e.g. fresher grass complete the thing. Of course, whoever wants to, can use brown plates to let the earth shine through.
The transition from the edge of the cliff we try to make it look as authentic as possible by using smaller slopes and alternate plates as grass and earth. We also grow a root of the tree above the edge of the cliff.
The is the basis for the Mega Tree. The next step is to start with the tree roots. Here are especially 1x1 slopes, 1x2 slopes, 1x3 slopes 1x4 slopes in different shades of brown super suitable.
Make sure that the roots of the tree are pointed in all directions and that they fit together well with the trunk of the tree later on. We try to follow the growth direction of the trunk and its branches.
The trunk itself again for the most part we build with 1x2x3 and 1x2x4 slopes. The inside we fill with various brown bricks / plates. If you do not see them also different colored stones are fine.
The various arch bricks are very suitable for the branches.
At the top we put a round 2x2 pin hole with 4 arms plate. Later on the treetop is set here.
For the branches themselves we use plates of sizes 1x4 - 1x14 in brown, but also black plates are possible.
In order not to get only horizontall leaves on the branches later, we also add hinge plates 1x2. With their different angles, the end result looks much more harmonious and lively.
After this step we finally hang the leaves on the tree. Again, the more colorful shades, the livelier the final result.
Dark leaves are closer to the stem, are older and get less sunshine, while lighter leaves symbolize the fresher, luscious leaves that lust for the sun.
Now fill the grass / soil with bamboo leaves and plant flower stems. A few big and small leaves in the ground, as bushes or moss. A few mushrooms, flowers and some bushes.
On the cliff itself we fix some lianas. These are originally the borders of the plant flower stem 1x1x2 with 3 leaves and are excellent as lianas, tendrils and other rope-like plants.
And that was about it. In the end you have a realistic looking Mega Tree.
